Life In Future

Life In Future
In my opinion, future will be different in good ways and bad ways. Homes, food and education won't be like today.

Firstly, people will live in huge spaceships in space because there won't be any trees in the Earth. Scientists will invent machines to produce oxygen. People won't be able to grow their own food in space so they will eat vitamin pills. Finally, there won't be any schools. There will be a machine to teach people everything in two minutes.

In conclusion, life in future won't be like today.

Letter

   Hi Ilgın,

We are going to Aydın with my family to meet my cousins this summer. I'm looking forward to seeing my grandma

I'll take my camera with me. I won't take my boots. I can't live without my iPad so I'll take it, too. I'll miss my dog so much.

   I'll send you a postcard.

   Best wishes,
   İdil

How I Met My Best Friend

How I Met My Best Friend
I remember it like it was yesterday. It was a memory that I will always remember. It was a normal cloudy evening in 2007. I was in a restaurant with my family. We ordered our meals and my mom saw her friend. She wasn't looking at us so my mom went there to talk to her. Then her daughter came and sat next to me. She asked my name and age. Then she told hers. She was 6 too. We started talking and played games in the playground. We liked each other very much and became best friends.

Koh-I-Noor Diamond

Koh-I-Noor Diamond
In 1857, the sepoys - Indian soldiers who fought for the British - began a revolt. The Sepoy Rebellion, as the British call it, or First War of Indian Independence, as the Indians call it frightened the British. This fear of violence within the Empire often appeared in British literature. Usually there is some object from India or the Empire that, almost magically, brings evil to Britain. Perhaps the most famous evil or magical objects from India were diamonds, and the most famous of all historical diamonds from India is the Koh-i-noor diamond. It was taken from an Indian temple by the British in 1849. In 1850, it was given to Queen Victoria. It is still one of the Crown Jewels.

According to the legend, the Koh-i-noor diamond brings bad luck to men, but does not hurt women.

Sepoy Rebellion

Sepoy Rebellion
The Sepoy Rebellion was set off between the British and the Indians. Indian soldiers that worked for the British during the British rule were known as the sepoys. When British started to advance on their technology, they came up with new riffle carriages. The only thing was, to make it fire, it had to be greased with pig fat. It is against the Hindu religion to eat or taste any kind of animal. When they requested the British to use another riffle, their answer was no. The British forced the Indians to fire, and when they didn't, the British got mad. One Indian (Mangal Pendey) stood out and revolted.

This is known as the Sepoy Rebellion. So basically, it was a rebellion that was caused because of ignoring the local customs.
