   The Hope Diamond

   The Hope Diamond is a large diamond. It is also known as "Le Bijou du Roi" (The King's Jewel), "Le bleu de France" (the Blue of France) and the Tavernier Blue. It is now in the Smithsonian Natural History Museum in Washington D.C. It had a long journey from India to France to Britain and to the U.S.A. Some people believe it was cursed after it was stolen from an Indian idol and brings bad luck or death to everyone who touches it.
